Cyber Monday 2012 Charts, iPad Dominates

As my inbox filled yesterday with Cyber Monday deals from every online retailer that I have ever visited, I wondered how many were using their iPad for Cyber Monday shopping. According to an IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark report, the iPad squashed the tablet competition as expected.

The iPad dominated shopping traffic with over 90 percent of tablet shoppers, the iPhone followed closely behind the iPad for all mobile devices. Cyber Monday as a whole resulted in 36 percent more sales than Black Friday according to the report, but “when the cash register closed it officially became the biggest online shopping day ever,” said Jay Henderson, IBM Strategy Director.

The iPad Factor:

“The iPad continued to generate more traffic than any other tablet or smartphone, driving more than 7 percent of online shopping. This was followed by iPhone at 6.9 percent and Android 4.5 percent. The iPad also continued to dominate tablet traffic reaching a holiday high of 90.5 percent. Amazon Kindle leapt into second at 2.6 percent followed by the Samsung Galaxy at 2 percent and the Barnes and Noble Nook at 0.6 percent.”

Overall, online sales increased over 30% as compared to 2011 Cyber Monday results. I personally, received over 100 emails with Cyber Monday deals and only ended up doing a lot of browsing…

How much did you spend/buy yesterday?
